4mins Dbl kb frsq 3 (10) 2x12kg handstand hold btwn sets

Screened two 12 yr olds today. Most bizarre contortions I have seen yet to do the Hurdle Step. Knocked kit over twice, cleared in on 3rd but on 2nd side actually he crouch, hopped on one foot to launch his leg over. In line-lunge same guy does a serious pelvic thrust to remain (somewhat) vertical. More creative problem solving ensued when second candidate struggles to position feet on kit for ILL. Begins by placing the front foot first and then taking back foot to position. Revealed static and dynamic single leg stance issues. Never succeeded. But a functioning brain was apparent.

Humm... so the FMS is also suitable to screen the brain for creative problem solving capabilities - that could open up a whole new market area for you! Try some recruitment agencies :)

Yes, but today I gave the boy a small sandbag and he placed it on his head, leaned back in his chair and collapsed. Poor core stability. Not a good way to use his head. But, another reason I love middle schoolers.

Thanks for the updates!

Did you have a chance to watch the kids parents move? What I have seen is that kids will move/walk like their parents since they copy everything they do (mirror neuron response too). I've had the chance to work with a few familys doing Z Health on them in a long session. So far I've done that 3 times with different kids/parents and so far they all had almost the same homework drills.

You are correct---I feel that movement quality it strongly correlated to creativity. I did a blog post on it related to mood.
